A Training Tool for local providers of Moving for Health opportunities -sport coaches and trainers, health providers, teachers and community developers- to promote physical and health literacy.

Who is behind Moving for Health?

The MOVING for Health (MfH) project is supported by the EU Erasmus+ programme.

To conduct this project, ISCA joined forces with 6 partners from across Europe: European Physical Education Association - EUPEA (Luxembourg), Human Kinetics Faculty, University of Lisbon (Portugal), Change the Game (Sweden), Sports Union of Slovenia - SUS (Slovenia), Deporte Para La Educación Y La Salud - DES (Spain), and the National Institute of Public Health -NIJZ (Slovenia).

Why you should participate in this training

The main aim of this training tool is to provide an actionable learning experience that will support you to:

  1. understand the basics of Physical Literacy (PL) & Health Literacy (HL) and
  2. create and/or support initiatives using PL and HL to create preconditions that allow positive and efficient movement experiences.
What will you learn?

By the end of the Moving for Health online training tool, you will be able to:

  • Understand the MfH model and its importance for everyday life and society in terms of health and well-being. (AWARENESS)
  • Be equipped to use the knowledge and skills from the MfH model to enhance your users’ experience (students/pupils, clients/patients, sports club members, citizens). (ACTION TAKING)
  • Develop a vision and/or a plan to implement a collaborative approach to share the knowledge and skills from the MfH model to your co-workers and work partners. (COLLABORATING)
What are we talking about?

Literacy represents one of the essential steps in education, as an indispensable means for effective participation in the societies and economies of the twenty-first century. ‘The concept of physical literacy recognises that humans learn for different reasons, whether for survival, social connection, or self-actualisation’ (Ydo, 2020).

The following Glossary of key terms was developed to share with you some important terms and definitions for concepts and elements mentioned throughout the training tool.

In the Moving for Health project, when these terms are used, they mean:
