Moving for Health returns to Ljubljana: partner meeting and conference highlights
The Moving for Health project recently convened a full partner meeting in Ljubljana, followed by participation in the exclusive Moving People, Moving Europe conference. This gathering provided a dynamic platform for collaboration, reflection, and inspiration as we progressed key aspects of the project.
The meeting began with a focus on Communication and Dissemination (WP5). To set an energetic tone, we kicked off with a lively rock, paper, scissors game—but with a twist! Using only our feet, this fun and engaging activity got everyone moving, perfectly aligned with the project’s emphasis on physical activity. It was a brilliant way to energise the group and reinforce the project’s core message.
In the session on establishing principles for health and physical literacy, participants worked in groups aligned with their expertise, addressing the four settings: schools, sport clubs, health centers, and communities. Each group provided valuable feedback on systematic approaches and tailored principles, emphasizing communication and promotion. These contributions are critical in laying the foundation for impactful project outputs.
Exciting news: The Moving for Health model’s core principles and groundbreaking research will be released by the end of this year! Stay tuned for these transformative resources that will shape health and physical literacy approaches across diverse environments.
Next, we shifted focus to WP3, where we discussed the development of a capacity-building program and an online training tool for various target groups. A common theme emerged: all our audiences are busy educators and professionals who require actionable, time-efficient learning experiences. Partners reflected on how to create tools that contextualize health and physical literacies, with ideas like reflective exercises and setting-specific visual aids sparking thoughtful debate.
The following day, at the Moving People, Moving Europe conference, partners participated in workshops and networking sessions, including a lively speed-dating event. This unique session allowed project representatives to deliver 90-second pitches on their initiatives, fostering quick but meaningful exchanges. Roundtable discussions followed, offering deeper dives into shared experiences and challenges within the sector.
With principles established, training tools in progress, and energized collaboration, this meeting underscored the project’s momentum. As we proceed with sharing findings and preparing for pilot testing, the Moving for Health team is well on track to make a lasting impact.
Stay tuned as we move closer to unveiling the Moving for Health model principles and research - key milestones that will define the next phase of our Healthy and Active Lifestyle journey!
